Israel maintains gag order in missing teens’ case, leading to charge of media ‘manipulation’

source: Mondoweiss

The Israeli government has imposed a gag order on journalists covering the apparent abduction of three Jewish teens in the West Bank last week to keep media from reporting details of its investigation.

The gag order, which we publish below  (here), has prevented media from reporting on an emergency telephone call made by one of the abducted youths. A widespread rumor is that the sound of a shot can be heard on the call. Mondoweiss has talked with one Israeli journalist who claims to have listened to the recording and confirms gunshots can be heard. This rumor has fed speculation that Israeli authorities believe one or more of the boys is dead– speculation that has appeared in print.

It's totally in contradiction, with what was said by Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon , on 15 june:  (ma' an news network, 15 june 2014)

"Because we have no information to the contrary, we are assuming that they are still alive," Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon told reporters.

I wonder how they will get away with this?    (Yes we can!!  we did it before....)
